Area Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.
Officers say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.
The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they stated.
Officers then discovered numerous other marked cars and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement say early analysis show the liquid was probably blood from a person.
"At present there remains no lead as to its origin; investigators are presently not cognizant of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they commented.
Local authorities announced they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the residents for information.
A senior representative commented the incident rendered him without words and required to be solved promptly.
"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he posted on social media, mentioning the killing of nine people by a gunman aiming at residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
